This position will be reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support planning, reporting and analytics for Investment results of the Sun Life General Account. This position will work closely with a number of teams across multiple divisions and corporate functions, including asset classes, finance teams within SLC and corporate finance, ALM and Actuarial teams.
What will you do?
Co-ordinate and prepare the quarterly Investments FBR package, focused on the preparation of surplus reporting schedules and assisting in the analysis of results
Assist in the quarterly credit cycle reporting process including bright line impairment testing, co-ordination of supporting credit materials, minute taking and preparation of executive summary materials.
Coordination and compilation of quarterly earnings & credit forecasts of investment results by business group.
Manage the quarterly IFRS 9 / ECL impairment assessment for SLF Trust
Support investment income analysis through the following systems: Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, Tableau, Longview, Web Intelligence and several other investment accounting administrative systems.
Prepare select material focused on surplus, credit and MD&A reconciliations for the quarterly GNIC report (performance reporting relative to plan for the investment department)
Assist in the co-ordination and validation of annual business group surplus projections provided for Investment Plan.
Perform ad-hoc investigations to answer queries from business unit leads, corporate or ALM partners.
Assist in other performance and investment reporting projects as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Professional finance designation (CPA, CFA, or MBA)
Previous experience within a Finance or Investment related role is preferred
Experience in a quarter-end processing/reporting/control role
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and data automation tools such as Excel PowerPivot, PowerQuery and Access would be an asset
Experience with Sun Life financial and investment systems preferred, specifically Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, Tableau, Longview and Web Intelligence

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
