Champlain Media West, a company associated with Reel One Entertainment, is looking for an experienced Controller, Production. Based in the Vancouver office, the Controller, Production will report to the Vice President, Production Accounting with a dotted-line reporting to the Senior Vice President of Production in Vancouver. He or she will be the main liaison between Corporate, the production teams, Business Affairs and Tax Credit department in British Columbia. The candidate will manage a team of 4 Accountants based in Vancouver (1 post-production accountant and 3 corporate accountants).

Prepare financial reporting, KPI covering all the movies at different stages and review production company year- end files, including adjustments for interim quarter-ends and month-ends
Attend production cost report meetings, analyze and inform management of any major variances in production cost in a timely manner
Analyze and approve draw requests
Forecast and monitor Cash flow (follow tax credit refunds and loans pay-off): impact of production on corporate cash flow, maximize use of financing
Lead a team of Accountants, including a post-production accountant and 2 intermediate corporate accountants
Work closely with tax credit department and business affairs to agree upon schedule for each new movie greenlighted and assure the deadlines are respected
Assure internal procedures and controls are followed by production
Work collaboratively with the production controller based in Toronto and the VP Production Accounting on different projects (IT automatization, digitizing system, reduction of bank accounts)
Make sure any question from Production is addressed properly and on a timely basis
Facilitate communication and liaise with all departments involved in the whole finance process
Prepare various and ad-hoc financial analyses

8 to 10 years of experience and 2 years of experience in tax credit calculations
Experience in the film production industry is a strong asset
Accounting certificate CPA/CGA/CMA
Experience with Great Plains is preferred
Very strong analytical and cash flow forecasting skills
Ability to quickly adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-growing environment
Experience managing an audit process
Experience in managing a team
Multi-currency experience
Ability to work under pressure
Strong sense of organization, autonomous and resourceful
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
