Mechanic (310T Technician)

About You

You consider yourself a hands-on team member, and you don’t mind the dirty work. You enjoy pitching in to help keep things clean and safe. You thrive in an independent work environment where you are able to maintain your own shop area with support of your Manager. Your diverse background has given you the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the facility and its equipment and you enjoy sharing your knowledge and know-how with others.

Position Snapshot

As the 310T Technician you would be responsible for repairing trucks, trailers and a variety of yard equipment including forklifts, backhoes and small engines. You will work closely with our Maintenance Manager, 310J Technician and Apprentice. This position is location in Tilbury, Ontario, where we operate on an 11 acre lot that includes a fully equipped 7,200 square foot shop. The skills and knowledge you have learned from your previous experience will help up maintain our experienced fleet.

Day in the Life

After having your favorite morning beverage and gearing up in your PPE, you can expect to:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, services and inspections
  • Diagnose and repair air, electrical and hydraulic problems
  • Perform repairs on brake and suspension systems
  • Perform repairs on yard equipment (forklift, backhoe, small engines)
  • Complete minor building repairs
  • Minor repairs and services on non-commercial vehicles
  • Perform annual MOT safety inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Follow all safety policy and procedures as required.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required for repairs and inspections completed

What you need to apply

  • Valid 310T Certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 4 years of maintenance experience
  • Experience working with tank and vacuum equipment an asset
  • Metal fabrication skills an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks
