Maintenance Supervisor – Night Shift
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the management, development and efficient operation of the Maintenance and Rendering employees
A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
Maintain positive MLF image.
Daily payroll, schedule vacations, prepare work schedules and daily work assignments.
Frontline supervision of maintenance and rendering staff; motivate teams to high performance.
Key Performance Indicators: Reduced Downtime, Improved Wrench Time, Maintenance Excellence Index, Maintenance Budget, Safety Scorecard
Oversee the maintenance staff day-to-day equipment and process challenges
Develop, implement preventive/predictive maintenance program.
Planning, leading, organizing, controlling Normal, Corrective, Preventive, Repairs & Maintenance
Work towards ensuring optimum equipment uptime and reliability
Order required parts and supplies, monitor and maintain department parts stock levels.
Maintain and monitor outside service contracts.
Schedule work for maintenance and rendering staff and outside services.
Track PM’s and work orders and ensure completion.
Schedule and coordinate projects, with the Planner, schedule plant inspections.
Deal with the various contractors as services are required.
Give direction and lead ongoing jobs.
Instruct and oversee workforce and inspect the actual work done.
Inspect plant equipment, house keeping duties, and team progress in general.
Enforce HACCP and CFIA regulations and plant GMP’s.
Enforce safe work practices and Company policy.
Plan and hold safety and policy meetings, investigate accidents and incidents.
Collect statements and do investigations regarding disciplinary issues.
Answer phone calls and emails daily about operations and other various things.
Meet with sales and technical people on a regular basis.
Continuously strive for top performance from staff and equipment.
Help solve various plant and production problems.
Maintain records of all types.
Research new data and equipment.
Organize and schedule training for staff.

What you will bring:
Minimum 3 years’ supervision experience in a fast paced, unionized environment required.
Electrical, Millwright or Mechanical or equivalent tickets required.
Strong equipment overhaul, machining, pneumatics, hydraulics, piping knowledge required.
Medium/Heavy equipment, automated packaging, refrigeration, experiences a must.
Excellent troubleshooting, adjusting, or repair new or existing equipment.
Familiar with electrical, health & safety, CFIA statutory regulations.
Preventive and proactive maintenance strategy expertise essential.
Strong knowledge of labor relations issues. Good oral and written communication.
Knowledge of MS Office required, AutoCAD, MS Project an asset
Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The ability to live and teach our Maple Leaf leadership values.
Initiative, sense of urgency, “Can-Do” attitude a must.
