Role Overview:
The lift operations lead hand is a key guest facing role that needs someone who is a self motivated, enthusiastic, team player who loves to be outdoors. The lead hand will work with the lift operations manager and supervisor to lead the lift ops team to deliver the finest mountain resort experience.

Your Responsibilities will include:
Ensure the proper & safe operation of all passenger ropeways and conveyors using BCSA regulations as a minimum.
Supervise and operate a given area as directed by the Lift Operations Manager/Lift Operations Supervisor.
Give direction to staff and possess the ability to follow up when necessary.
Early morning start-up of ski lift equipment.
Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents as required.
Assist in administrative duties including scheduling and training.
Respond to all lift or people related incidents that may occur in your assigned zone.
Attend all staff meetings with follow-up on agenda items.
Ensure all SPRLLP policies are adhered to particularly in regards to safety, EMS, and passenger ropeway Z-98 regulations.
Ensure the proper use, inspection, storage, and inventory of lift tools.
Present yourself in the highest standards of image and appearance with exemplary personal grooming and hygiene and a clean uniform on a daily basis, to set the example for your crews.
Continually monitor the maze area, load/unload ramps, signage, operation of the lifts, operators, and safe loading and unloading of the guests.
Supervise all work in accordance and adherence with established safety and inspection procedures, including; start up, line checks, obtaining loading clearances, grooming report boards ramp/maze maintenance, daily log sheets, incident reports, shut down, and post operational procedures.

Ideal Candidates:
At least one previous season as a Lift Operator at Sun Peaks Resort.
Must have a valid BC class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
Completed Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Labor position – must be able to lift 40lbs for more than a few moments
Have a basic working knowledge of the Z-98 code, BC Safety Act and regulations as applied to passenger ropeways and conveyors.
Strong knowledge in the operation of passenger ropeways.
A team player with proven interpersonal, team supervisory skills and guest service skills.
Have a working knowledge of Work Safe BC/New and Young worker regulations as applied to ski area operations.
Able to work outdoors in all weather extremes and capable of heavy, repetitive work
