Binnie is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Alberta Division. This position is full-time in our new Calgary office, located downtown near the Calgary Tower and Stephen Avenue, with shops and restaurants nearby.
Our Project Services Division which manages client projects including highways, bridges, transit upgrades, facility upgrades, landfills, and utilities, will support this new role.
You will build and lead Binnie’s presence in Alberta, managing high-profile projects. You will coordinate a diverse and talented project team. All of our Project Managers work within the guidelines of the Project Management Institute and many are designated PMPs.
You will use your strong ability to assess local market conditions and identify prospective clients, as well as foster relationships with new and existing clients to win new business.
Seeking out new business opportunities and creating a positive external profile for Binnie
Participating in local community and business associations
Preparing proposals and technical reports
Coordinating and prioritizing work according to project scope, schedule and budget
Establishing and maintaining communications with clients
Acting as the key contact on projects working with stakeholders, consultants, contractors and support staff
Monitoring progress of projects and meeting staff to review work on an on-going basis
Providing guidance to the project team
WHAT YOU BRING:
8+ years of experience in relevant industry (including 3+ years of project management experience)
Registration as a P.Eng. with APEGA, with ASET, or equivalent
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle
Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
