About the position:
Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, the Senior Merchandise Planner is responsible for the execution of our ongoing procurement strategy. This role is key to developing and implementing product assortments that achieve our sales and margin targets, as well as monitoring and managing key KPI’s that drive department success. Additionally, this role is a key collaborator with our client services, warehouse, marketing and business development teams ensuring they have the right support to execute our business objectives.
Other key responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the entire product life-cycle from on-boarding, replenishment, price management, to seasonality management and end-of-life exit strategies
Daily analytics to help drive timely and accurate purchasing decisions
Perform regular review and reclassification of individual sku’s based upon historical analysis and forecasting
Supplier Management/Strategic Sourcing – Support and develop supplier relations through daily interactions
Facilitate the exchange of information between team members and suppliers to support the Staub team and our customers
Communicate between internal (corporate departments and team members) and external audiences to ensure new products, model transitions and supply constraints are disseminated in a timely manner
Monitor website to ensure that product is active on line and appropriately displayed (image, copy, title, price, etc.)
Be in tune with competitors to understand promotional strategies and customer base
Understand and enforce Price Management
Exhibit initiative to look beyond the everyday business for opportunities to maximize sales potential
Monitor and make recommendations on product transitions, creating strategies around excess inventory and clearance/discontinued items
Manage our annual plan, broken down weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonally, to ensure critical action items are clearly identified and executed
Skills, experience and education requirements:
5+ years of experience in an Inventory or Merchandising role with specific focus on:
Wholesale or Retail buying, inventory or planning experience – ideally in the Consumer Electronics industry
Equivalent retail management/operations/logistics experience – preferably in the Consumer Electronics industry.
Bachelor's Degree or Certificate related to Inventory Management, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management
Advanced Microsoft Excel user that must be comfortable working with large amounts of data, pivot tables and complex formulas
Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail
Tech Savvy, technical troubleshooting skills
Detail oriented and highly efficient
Experience with SAP Business One or similar ERP system would be an asset
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Well-developed organization and time-management skills
A high level of integrity and a commitment to do what you say you are going to do
Strong sense of curiosity and the desire to learn and get better everyday
Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships with all levels in the organization
