Steinsvik Canada Inc. is one of 10 global business units that make up the wider Steinsvikcommunity, with our headquarters in Norway. In this full-time role as a Field Service Technician, you will be based in our Steinsvik Canada west coast offices in Campbell River.

Your duties and responsibilities would be to:

  • Continuously adhere to safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment on farm sites and in our Steinsvik workshops
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment, including antennas, cameras, computers, software and related equipment
  • Provide technical support and training to customers’ employees
  • Prepare technical documents
  • Maintain professional and technical requirements for the position and contribute to the company ethos of continuous learning and development
  • Perform related duties as required

The qualifications, training and experience required would be:


  • An ability and willingness to work productively and safely in a challenging marine environment
  • The technical competence to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
  • To be motivated to work alone or as part of a team
  • The capability to perform troubleshooting procedures
  • A valid BC drivers license [Class 5]


  • An electronics or related diploma/training in computer software, hardware and operating systems relevant to the position
  • Two years related experience or an equivalent combination of IT experience and training
  • Working knowledge of both LAN and WLAN protocols
  • A Pleasure Craft Operator Card, or other qualification as required
  • Knowledge of motor control circuits for FVNR, FVR and VFD
