Reporting directly to the President, the General Manager will be responsible for running the business and managing operations to a high standard while ensuring profitability. The General Manager will manage the Company’s Finance, Operations, and Maintenance Departments as well as oversee Capital Projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and success of the business’ strategic growth plan.
This position is viewed as a developmental role and it is anticipated that the successful candidate would assume the role of President as part of a pre-established succession plan.
Lead the Real Estate division in creating and achieving strategic growth plan.
Maintain oversight of Commercial Properties and oversee the success of the annual operating and capital budget.
Forecast annual capital budget requirements and oversee the control of budgets related to real estate projects and assets.
Oversee strategies to achieve cash flow and ROCE objectives and maximize the value of the organizations.
Manage a senior team in the functional areas of administration and finance, maintenance and capital projects, tenant relations.
Maintain a high level of quality in the assets and service provided to our clients, the tenants.
Oversee the protection and care of assets and building improvement projects.
Develop and maintain an Asset Management System to maximize asset life cycle.
Strive for operational excellence through technology and process improvement.
Manage, evaluate, and negotiate vendor contract requirements and establish performance specifications.
Represent the Company and build strong business relationships with current and future tenants and vendors.
Collaborate with the Brokerage team to ensure optimal financial results and occupancy.
Be part of the Senior Executive Brokerage team as it relates to new developmental projects and Acquisitions.
Understand the markets where we do business.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field of study
Strong operations experience either in manufacturing operations, construction or building maintenance.
Minimum 10 years management experience with a proven track record.
Prior responsibility for profit and loss.
Commercial real estate experience is certainly an asset but is not a requirement for the position.
