The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in the inception, design, implementation, and closure of major clinical, corporate and infrastructure information system projects. These large initiatives may be provincial or regional in nature, encompass multiple projects that have some level of project interdependency and may be under the scope of a program. The SR PM provides leadership to deliver business benefits through IT solutions. All Nonunion/Exempt positions are being reviewed for possible inclusions in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. Major Accountabilities include: Business stakeholder management – works with various business and IT stakeholders to understand the business objectives and requirements to ensure the program/project outcomes will contribute to these expectations and deliver business benefits in a cost effective manner; Planning and execution – defines the overall project plans including the work breakdown structure (scope), resources, budget, schedule, and executes against the approved plan; Financial management – Responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and resources within the approved budget; monitors and tracks financials addressing variances as appropriate; Risk and issue management – anticipates risks threatening the successful completion of a project, develops mitigation strategies, and facilitates resolution of issues.
PM Accountabilities include: Manages the creation of a project charter, with input from executive sponsors, business leadership and required SMEs and project team members; Develops and coordinates an overriding project plan and timeline for the project; Provides deliverable-based budget estimates and manages financials based on these estimates; Leads and manages cross-functional project team members and vendor resources.

Required Skills and Experience: Experience in a large and complex IT environment and matrix organization. Deep knowledge of project management principles, PMO tools and methodologies, and project governance concepts. Extensive experience leading large sized project teams. Experience working in a complex matrixed organization. Healthcare knowledge and experience preferred. Expertise with MS Project, MS Office suite and Visio.
