FOOD SERVICE WORKER EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK $15.13
Serve food to residents/patients.
Ensure that the overall presentation of the food is appealing.
Setting and clearing of tables.
Scrape and sort dirty dishware and place in the dishwasher.
Set-up and delivery of food trays to residents/patients.
Plate meals including snacks, desserts and salads.
Prepare all beverages.
Re-stock service areas
Clean dining room floor after each meal service.
Maintain confidentiality of all residents and personnel information.
Complete required HACCP logs.
Maintain safe environment at all times.
Perform duties according to health & safety work practices and report all injuries and hazards to the Supervisor immediately.
Other reasonable requests from management.

Student in College are allowed to apply but must have Food Handler Certificate. Student in the Food and Nutrition Program are allowed to apply.
Previous experience in the healthcare environment an asset
Previous food preparation/food service experience
Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Able to communicate with managers, other employees and residents
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate

Cook Job Description
Prepare and/or be responsible for the preparation/delivery of all foods for residents, guests and employees;
Follow menu and production documentation when preparing food.
Ensure use of proper food handling techniques;
Complete daily temperature audits for fridge, freezers and storerooms
Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic /specialty diets according to planned menus;
Make menu substitutions as necessary and record these in designated place;
Ensure service of meals and nourishments are on time.
Follow daily production charts, standardized recipes and daily composite menus
Comply with all provincial/municipal regulations and established dietary department policies and procedures;
Participate actively in planning/preparing special occasion and theme meal days;
Attend department and facility staff meetings, in-services and other necessary training sessions;
Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
Must be able to fill in when staff shortage to ensure great service continues for the customers.
Complete all other tasks as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Previous Hotel experience an asset
Knowledgeable of the Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating;
Knowledge of and experience with special and therapeutic diets;
Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift;
Successful candidates will be asked to agree to a Criminal Record Check (VSS)
