Acclaim Health announces the availability of one (1) Full Time IT Support Technician position for the Information Technology department, which is equivalent to 37.5 hours/week.


  • Provides first-line response for users requiring assistance with IT issues (software, hardware, telecommunication, SAAS, intranet, organizational applications) via ticketing system including follow-ups until resolution achieved
  • Maintains, supports and monitors remote access via SSL VPN (SonicWall NetExtender)
  • Configures, maintains and supports end-user hardware devices including desktop computers, tablets, laptops, smart phones, desk phones, printers and photocopiers
  • Ensures all mobile devices are configured and secured via MDM and all Operating System updates and App updates are performed in a timely manner
  • Supports and maintains building security system and access cards
  • Maintains user accounts including creating as per Systems Access Matrix, making changes as requested and deletes/disables access in a timely manner and ensures the return of equipment upon termination or leave of absence
  • Performs installations, upgrades and updates of desktop/laptop software and operating systems as required
  • Maintains telecommunication system, including telephone, voicemail and fax to ensure uninterrupted, efficient and effective operations
  • Provides 24/7 rotating on-call support with escalation to the Director, IT
  • Monitors and escalates alerts from antivirus systems, and assists Systems Administrator with performing updates/patches on network infrastructure and servers in response to alerts from Cybersecurity dashboard
  • In collaboration with the Systems Administrator, provides orientation and software & hardware training to staff upon hire and upon new hardware or software systems upgrades


  • Community College Diploma, Information Technology
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ systems and network management technology experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop (Windows 10) and Server Operating Systems (2012/2016); Active Directory
  • Experience supporting remote workforces, including Virtual Private Network set-up and management
  • Experience with VOIP, phone systems, unified communications and call centre technologies
  • Experience with backup systems, both local and offsite/cloud, data storage and retrieval
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and AlayaCare
  • Knowledge and experience with telecommunications equipment & security systems servers
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent customer service, listening and organizational skills
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and Insurance in accordance with the organizations policy
