Job Description – Rope Access Operations Supervisor - Prairie Region____________________
Position Title: Rope Access Operations Supervisor
Reports to: Rope Operations Manager - Western Canada
Job type: Full time
Job Location: Position will be based out of the 5301 Edmonton Office. Position is primarily responsible for the Prairie Region (Alberta [Everything outside of the Wood Buffalo Region] and Saskatchewan).
Travel Requirements: Occasional out of town and overnight travel with or without notice. Accommodations, Flights etc. provided as required to meet Service Line requirements.
This position is primarily responsible for Rope Access Project Management of all work scopes in Prairies Region (Alberta [everything outside of the Wood Buffalo Region] and Saskatchewan), providing direct support to the Rope Access Operations Manager in the day-to-day administration and execution of the Rope Access Service Line, including all client QA/QC reporting requirements, Site Safety, progress reports and all contractor site meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct liaison with the clients
Arrange and coordinate personnel movements with Operations
Attend all Contractor Planning/Safety meetings at site(s) as required by the client
Coordinate all work activities at site(s)
Provide Daily Progress reports to Operations
Obtain Customer feedback for completed work scopes
Arrange site orientations for all new personnel to site(s)
Understand and interpret client requests
Prepare timely accurate job costing – estimating – cost control and PO expenditure
Prepare client requests for quotation
Ability to schedule multiple work projects without conflict
Provide project management regarding key accounts
Liaise with other departments and service lines as they relate directly to Industrial Rope Access
Liaise – coordinate with Team Account Managers and Business Development initiatives
Provide technical expertise on Industrial Rope Access as required for Safety requirements, Sales Presentations, Job Walks etc.
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities
Work effectively within the company ISO 9001-2015 Certification
Participate as an active member of the company OHS Committee
Exercise effective time management skills
Direct administration, instructors and rope access Level 3 Supervisors and work teams as required
Health and Safety
Ensure all site safety requirements are met and adhered to by all Team Personnel and 3rd Party Contractors
Conduct daily field audits/site inspections on all Team Rope Access crews (one per crew) where feasible
Conduct Weekly Safety meetings with all Team Rope Access personnel
Conduct personnel checks at start of each shift to ensure personnel are fit for duty
Ensure all safety documentation is signed off daily
Ensure all crews are completing daily Toolbox Talks/safety meetings
Post/communicate IRATA Bulletins and other safety alerts, posters as they become available to all Rope Access personnel in the region, ensuring sign-off sheets are maintained and filed
Ensure all applicable Provincial OH&S Requirements and IRATA requirements are being met and adhered to by all Team Rope Access Personnel and 3rd Party Contractors
Coordinate with District Manager(s) and HSE Manager – on any Incidents, Near misses, First Aids etc.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide guidance to District Managers and HSE Managers for all Incidents, Near Misses, First Aids, etc. that are directly related to Industrial Rope Access
Ensure Timesheets are completed accurately and turned in daily by all supervisors
Ensure Timesheets are submitted to payroll on time weekly.
Ensure all QA/QC documentation is being maintained and passed on to the client as required
Maintain and track all Safety Documentation by project
Ensure all project/s paperwork and documentation are organized, well maintained and filed individually in the project files
Ensure all billing information is complete and accurate, and submitted for review and invoicing as soon as possible, upon completion of projects or as required when interim billing is in effect
Education and Skill Requirements:
5-10 years, experience/knowledge of the Industrial Rope Access Industry
5+ years, preferred and related experience in Project Management
Experience/Training in Incident Investigation and reporting required.
Valid/Current IRATA Level 3 Certification MANDATORY. IRATA Level 3/i is preferred
Recognized Health Safety & Environmental experience/training
MUST have current: Confined Space Entry, OSSA Training (as required for site access), and Fall Arrest tickets
Quality or Safety Audit training or experience.
Proven ability to multitask and meet required deadlines
Self-reliant, action-oriented with optimum customer service skills
Well developed interpersonal communication, integrity and professionalism
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written skills
Solid computer and keyboarding skills with good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Strong Organizational and Time Management skills.
NDE certificates or prior experience an asset.
Other trades certification an asset.
