The Marriott on the Falls also offers sumptuous dining options at its on-site Milestones Fallsview Restaurant along with 23 private function rooms and boardrooms totaling over 40,000 square feet of meeting space including our 8400 sq. ft. Oakes Grand Ballroom with an additional 2700 sq. ft. foyer. JOB SUMMARY

At Marriott on the Falls, our operations thrive with the commitment of Associates who demonstrate/support the Marriott core values and culture of putting people first, acting with integrity, serving our world, embracing change, and pursuing excellence.We are seeking a Room Service Attendantresponsible for providing the highest level of guest service that reflects the high standards of Marriott to all our guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about our brand, providing the highest level of guest service and accommodation as well as thrives on an empowered environment, delivering our service promise. The ideal candidate offers individual warm and welcoming service by paying attention to the guests needs and looks for every opportunity to delight the guest with your service levels, as well as take care of guests from the presentation of amenities to giving each guest a genuine, personalized experience, while also providing fast, friendly, and efficient service. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: report to work punctually, in order to maintain integrity of co-workers and guests; answer room service phone using the corrects salutations and telephone etiquette; take guests’ food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following departmental standards; prepare station in anticipation of the day’s business by stocking work areas with china, glassware, linen, coffee pots, napkins and ensure stock is clean and polished; check VIP list and communicate orders to the kitchen and the next room service shift; set trays and tables according to established standards; deliver orders according to established standards; retrieve trays on a timely basis; prepare and deliver amenities; have through knowledge of menus, and specials in order to up sell; have through knowledge of the hotel and local surrounding area; accommodate guest requests for change courteously; anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency; ensure authorization for room charges; process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures; assist all guests’ and employees’ inquires; effectively communicate with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested; Complete all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a genuine hospitality ‘gene’and the drive.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional composure at all times, regardless of issue, while performing multiple tasks with multiple guests/ items/products.
  • Previous Food & Beverage Serving experience or at least 3 years of guest service experience is required.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly identifying guest’s needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
  • Demonstrated reading comprehension ability (eg. Assist guests in reading of company / local tourism literature in order to increase guest satisfaction during stay/ visit.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team setting to anticipate and assist to another server’s guests’ needs.
  • Must be self directed and self motivated
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work safely and in compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Smart Serve Certification is required.
  • Must be able to work breakfast, lunch and dinner/evening shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to push, pull and move item greater then 50 lbs and stand during an entire shift.
