What we’re looking for:
The Project Manager role is responsible for overall project management operations and process within the Research & Development group at Immersion. This is a key leadership position that is responsible for the following activities:

Strategic project planning and goal setting
Project execution
Project documentation and archives
Project prioritization and business alignment
Processes and standard operations

This role will report to the SVP, R&D and assume ownership of ensuring that all technical activities within the team are structured and executed appropriately. In addition, this role will identify and systematize activities as appropriate to ensure an agile development culture is established within the technical organization.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Strategic project planning and goal setting
Ensure projects are appropriately planned by driving alignment with the Technology team and its stakeholders in Marketing/Sales/Legal and Finance
Manage the project planning pipeline and business alignment process
Establish, track and report on project goals and KPI’s
Project execution
Act as overall ScrumMaster for the organization to ensure project execution is consistent with Immersion’s Agile methodology
Provide guidance and leadership to the technical team to keep projects on-track
Ensure visibility by project stakeholders into key project milestones, deliverables and risks
Project documentation and archives
Manage organizational metrics and ensure timely updates and reporting of metrics to key stakeholders.
Establish documentation repositories for executed projects.
Manage technical writing resources and staff to deliver appropriate technical documentation by end of project
Project prioritization and business alignment
Own the Business Strategy Committee (BSC) meeting and process in order to ensure business priorities are correctly reflected in the team’s active projects.
Co-ordinate with the technical product owners and marketing product owners for active and planned projects.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has at least seven years of direct Project Management experience taking new products from concept phase to mass production. Experience with hands-on product development is a plus. The candidate must have excellent people skills and should be comfortable working closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers as well as the ability to interface with senior management on project status and reporting.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred
Must have 7+ years’ experience of direct Project Management taking new products from concept phase to mass production
Must have a good background in product development processes and direct product development experience is a plus
Detail oriented and proven ability to manage multiple, cross functional initiatives with overlapping timelines and deliverables
Ability to demonstrate both a passion for product and project management and a strong aptitude for interpreting business strategy
Familiarity with PPM (Project Portfolio Management) tools and practices, PMP certification a plus
Strong leadership capabilities, communication, and people skills
Experience managing international project teams is a plus
