David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an Outside Sales Representative, based in Victoria, BC.

Our client has over 65 years’ experience in the industry, becoming a market leader as the largest distributor of HVAC-R in Canada. Our client is a specialist in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation, with 6 distribution centers and over 40 branches spanning across Canada.

There is a new opportunity for an Outside Representative to join their sales team in Victoria, BC.

Key responsibilities of the role include:Marketing & promotion of products:
Selling price: coordination between purchasing, product management & sales department
Marketing tools, catalogs, sales manuals: coordination between product manager & sales department
After-sales service: coordination between service manager & technical support to manufacturers
Attend trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments
Develop a close relationship with refrigeration and commercial contractors and promote the ability to quote on public tenders as well as on design-build projects
Ensure effective regional relationships with suppliers
Identify competitive positioning of our products versus the competition

After-sales service:
Contact customers after the sale to resolve problems and ensure follow up
Have the ability to resolve technical problems related to products
Set up and facilitate training seminars for our contractor base
Promotion of products to clients (contractors, engineering firms and owners):
Acquire required technical knowledge in order to promote products
Preparation of annual sales budgets for territory & proposals for client accounts
Document account activities, generate reports and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers
Maintain sales forecasting reports
Presentation of technical drawings
Preparation of buying & pre-purchase documents
Presentation of product applications for use in HVAC/R systems

Management of client accounts:
Development & solicitation of existing and potential clients
Evaluation of client’s needs & resources and recommendation of appropriate products & services
Responsible for the use of the CRM in client account management
Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments

The Ideal Candidate:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in the sales environment in HVAC/R field
In-depth knowledge of products technical applications (HVAC/R Master’s products & competition)
Relevant College and/or University education (HVAC/R)
Professional phone manner and customer service skills
Knowledge of MS Office programs
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
Good sales abilities and persuasiveness
Strong time management, organizational and decision-making skills
Ability to close sales and work under pressure
Good communication and organizational skills
Completion of sales related training programs
