The Dental Laboratory Technician designs prepare and fabricate dental appliances and devices. Dental devices and appliances are prescribed by the dentist that is inclusive of dentures, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, clasps and bands, and implants.

Team centered, the incumbent will work with a close-knitted team to deliver quality products to our clients within a fast-paced working environment. Completing repetitive tasks, the incumbent must have the ability to carry out the combination of sitting standing and walking for long periods of time and manual dexterity. Also, the individual must have a high aptitude for hand-eye coordination, great attention to detail, and availability Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Overtime may be required based on the operational need, may not be scheduled in advance, and when required is a condition of continued employment.

  • Completing plaster casting, electro-spot welding, polishing, wax modeling, wire bending, sandblasting, use of some CAD/CAM, maintaining supplies inventories; keeping equipment operating.
  • Pouring of models
  • Articulating models
  • Set-up of individual teeth
  • Processing, and trimming and polishing (finishing) of complete ortho appliances
  • Removable & fixed retainers (for example Hawley retainers)
  • Expansion devices
  • Cleaning of laboratory and workspace

Education: High school diploma

Certifications: N/A

Skills & abilities (preferred): Strong communicator with effective interpersonal skills. Team player, client focus, keen to learn a more, positive attitude

Professional / Technical Knowledge: N/A

Equipment: Computer, Sculpting instruments, and power rotary tools

Experience: 5 years minimum with equivalent experience

On the Job Training (expected): approximately six (6) months
