Reporting to the General Manager, The Operations Manager of Crop Inputs is responsible for the overall performance of the facility. This position will oversee quality control measures, the maintenance and compliance of a safe working environment as well as provide support to ensure the crop input needs of customers are met efficiently and with quality service.

Your day to day activities will include:

  • Responsible for the unload, load, and schedule delivery of agri-products
  • Build plans for the custom application units to fulfill the custom application orders in a timely fashion
  • Ensure all shipments are inspected for quality and quantity
  • Inventory management and control procedures
  • Aid in the interviewing and hiring of seasonal operations staff
  • Provide training to all seasonal staff for their specific tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Provide additional support to staff as needed including sprayer, floater, and delivery unit operation
  • Ensure the facility has space to accommodate incoming inventory, is clean, and prepared to receive shipments as scheduled
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance measures are being carried out
  • Ensure all safety and regulatory audits are conducted and monthly inspections are completed
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of the crop input business
  • Sound knowledge of facility equipment
  • Knowledge of HACCP guidelines, AWSA guidelines, fire control measures, CCOHS workplace standards, industry regulations and safety policies
  • Experience in supervising operations staff
  • Experience with NH3 and custom application equipment is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
