Take succinct neurological history for patients follow ups in general neurology.
Perform neurological exam when clinically required
Review clinical updates with staff neurologist.
Discuss therapeutic choices, and potential side effects with patients.
Counsel patients regarding disease risk factors, self -management, and lifestyle modifications when required.
Order required investigation and imaging.
Produce follow up notes.
Produce referral letters when required.
Adequately communicate with administrative and social/community staff regarding patient's advocacy.
Clinics run Tuesdays to Thursdays 8:30-6:00, rest of hours to complete full time are allocated to administrative/research related work.
Staff neurologist encourages and promotes involvement in clinical and basic science research. Opportunities to explore these areas are available.
Staff Neurologist encourages and promotes attendance to continued medical education meetings, congresses and academic gatherings .
Must hold U.S.A or Canadian BSc (PA).
Must be certified by either the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistant (in the U.S.A) or the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
Excellent time management,organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to Learn and optimize use of the office electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Satisfactory references required. Criminal background check required.
