The Installed Sales Flooring Specialist is responsible for the daily Installed Sales operations of the Flooring Department, punch-out services and specialty projects. He or she is responsible for meeting established sales goals and projected margins. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with all activities associated with the marketing, advertising, PR, selling, installing or constructing, collections and customer follow up of the Flooring Department.


Ensures that all Installed Sales customers receive superior service.

Maintain and improve the department's service mission and service strategy.

Meet established sales goals.

Coordinates with financial institutions for customer's project financing needs.

Reviews the competitor's advertising and marketing programs.

Utilizes Installed Sales software programs, operational manuals and other material.

Maintains the accuracy of the job cost accounting for each job utilizing the provided software.

Assist customers using our estimating system, contracts and other forms for each type of project indicating possible added cost categories and other related potential sales information.

Reviews all final job estimates. Compares estimated costs against actual costs and makes revisions in pricing guides where necessary.

Coordinates with Installed Sales Manager to continually update the pricing guides.

Schedules all projects, installations, deliveries and pick-ups.

Coordinates installations with store staff, inside salespeople, installers, outside salespeople and customers.

Solicits sub-contractors for participation in the Installed Sales program.

Supervises the qualifying of all installers and contractors.

Maintains rapport with all installers and contractors by telephone, mail, and/or by periodically holding contractor meetings.

Provides updated materials to installers as well as prospective installers.

Provides computer-generated reports to supervisor as requested.

Ensures that the department's inventory, pricing, software and customer files are accurate and up to date.

Ensures that all services meet or exceed requirements by regulatory agencies and OSHA.

Maintains a familiarity with local building codes.

Coordinates any trade show participation.

Assist new employees and subcontractors, ensureing theyunderstand and practice the company's service philosophy.


Minimum 3 years of experience with flooring sales or installations

High School graduate or equivalent.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, sales and customer service and training skills.

Strong knowledge of building materials products (especially commodities) and lumber.

Knowledge of point-of-sales systems, basic business accounting, safety and store security.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, contract, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer knowledge.


Ability to talk and hear.

Ability to stand, walk and sit.

Manual dexterity.

Strength: lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Valid driver’s license of the appropriate type and class.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
