Department Overview

The Credit Underwriting team reviews, analyses and approves credit applications to support various lines of business. We optimize credit opportunities for our customers by determining, structuring, packaging and authorizing credit facilities while adhering to credit risk policies and established guidelines. Our Credit Underwriters assess the credit status of customers, provide credit administrative and operational support and evaluate their financial portfolio while protecting the interest of the Bank. Job Description

Can you provide a broad range of operational support to the Credit Underwriting function including credit processing and transactions activities? Would you like supporting business partners and the credit function by collecting, reviewing and analyzing all credit documentation for accuracy and adherence to all regulatory requirements? If so, then apply for the position of Credit Assistant I to:

Provide guidance and support to business partners or customers on a broad range of credit products offered in a business line or product suite and/or within authorization limit
Support partner relationships and be responsible for providing a broad range of operational and/or credit processing activities to ensure business objectives and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met
Ensure complete and accurate data input into the origination system assisting the preparation of loan documentation
Prioritize and handle own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
Understand and apply credit operating policies and procedures
Support various business partners and credit areas by either collecting / reviewing / analyzing all credit documentation for accuracy, adherence to all regulatory requirements, review of all requested approval conditions associated with a credit facility prior to funding and etc.
Work within generally defined guidelines, accountable for completing a range of credit transactions / activities that involve single to multiple steps and several systems or applications
Transactions / activities require process knowledge for own area of expertise and could be characterized by low to moderate risk
Take a broad perspective to identify and resolve issues that are atypical, infrequent or not covered by stated processes or raises internally as required (within a prescribed set of parameters / rules)
Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and collaboration and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
Support the team by continuously improving knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team

Job Requirements

High School diploma / Undergraduate degree and/or 1 year of relevant experience
An ambitious teammate who can work in both group and independent settings with minimal direction
Proficient with software applications such as MS Office
Ability to multi task and prioritize work schedule for deadlines
A strong analytical mind with attention to detail and eagerness to learn and grow
Strong communications (verbal, written and presentation), and organizational skills
A committed individual with positive personality and willingness to accept challenges in a demanding environment
