-Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food preparation and service;
- Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service, including table/tray presentation, preparation and serving of beverages, serving of food;
-Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
-Carries out general cleaning duties and routines including dishes as required;
-Maintains a safe and clean environment for residents utilizing rotational cleaning practices & infection control principles;
-Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments;
-Maintains and uses all equipment in a safe manner and reports any problems to supervisor;
-Completes special cleaning assignments as assigned.
-Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
-Answers phone calls utilizing the prescribed script & ensures that messages are communicated effectively to team members or Administration as applicable;
-Maintains all areas of the building in a tour ready manner;
-Greet all visitors in a positive and supportive manner requesting if they need assistance of any kind;
-Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the supervisor;
-Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships with all team members;
-Demonstrates personal attributes and communication skills that foster customer satisfaction at all times.
-Perform other duties as required.
-Must have or be willing to get ‘Serving it Right’ designation
-One year experience in dining room service or customer service
-Must have Vulnerable Criminal Record Check
-Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
-Food Handlers Certification preferred
-Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
Minimum grade 12 education.
