With the overarching objective of Defining a Higher Standard, and reporting to the IT Business Partner, the Application Analyst will develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors to ensure applications used in the management of our forests are maintained to a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. The Application Analyst will participate in the design, installation and maintenance of applications, hardware and related components to ensure effective and efficient use of these systems.


IT Services

Develop system specifications, detailed designs and test plans;
Assist in the installation and/or maintenance of various enterprise level software systems;
Analyze, document and improve business processes;
Development and application of corporate data standards;
Create training plans, provide support and training to end users of our systems;
Maintain an up to date knowledge of the systems, tools and development methodologies; and
Assessing and evaluating new opportunities for software and hardware to improve our business.

Education and Experience

Post-secondary degree / diploma with a primary focus in forestry, IT and/or business management or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience supporting enterprise level software or IT related projects
Advanced proficiency with forest management software (Resources, TFM or LRM), Forest Ops and the ESRI suite of GIS software.
Strong working knowledge of databases, database design and usage (Microsoft SQL Server & Oracle).
Programming skills utilizing Python and SQL.
Experience developing reports using SSRS, Crystal Reports or PowerBI.
Experience working with software applications including RoadEng, Plant Wizard, mobile data collection, maintenance systems, LIMS, weigh and stick scaling software would be an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, Power-point and Outlook.
Experience with field data collection hardware devices including tablets (iOS, Windows), GPS units (Trimble, Mesa2), scaling handhelds (DAP, Allegro2) and mobile printers.
Experience with data mapping and migration processes.
Experience integrating software systems and data.
Understanding of networking and infrastructure components would be an asset.
