Employment Placement Specialist - Calgary, AB (Full Time)
We are seeking a new team member specializing in job placement!

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting unemployed clients in returning to work in a suitable capacity. The candidate will have a strong understanding of the Alberta labor market with an emphasis on the regions of Calgary and Grande Prairie. Additionally, the employment specialist will ideally have existing relationships with employers and labor groups in Alberta.

The employment placement specialist will be required to:
Work with the client to assist with:
Being job ready by identifying challenges, barriers and assistance they may need to gain meaningful employment
Identify suitable alternate, supplementary and additional job target options to the one identified in the planning phase based on the clients physical ability qualifications and experience
Offer ongoing assistance and support in creating targeted resumes
Advice about training on the job
Mentor clients in making cold calls
Connect the client with Alberta services(available through the Alberta Government), Federal Government Services, Community Provision and local service providers
Assist in the running of the job club for clients, post notices, be on hand to assist with resume tweaking make phone calls and identify hiring events

Work with the referral source:
Communicate with referral sources to provide current and up to date information on the client’s status
Communicate with respect to support for Training on the Job
Communicate with respect to clients needs

Work with the employer:
Connect with employers to identify their recruitment and hiring needs
Meet with employers to discuss the benefits of hiring suitably talented and qualified job seekers
Promote training on the job
Attend hiring events to network

Administrative tasks:
Timely report writing
Record keeping and maintains files manually and electronically
Create a data base for employer connections, contacts and clients
Photocopy and keep up to date relevant employment related documents and templates

Other Responsibilities:
Assist unemployed individuals in obtaining employment and returning to the workforce
Identify prospective employers and assist in meeting their hiring needs
Matching available clients with employers who have hiring opportunities
If you demonstrate the education, training, and practical experience to be able to thrive in this role then we would like to speak with you! A college or university degree or diploma in a related field is required, along with experience working in a similar role.
