We are seeking a Core Application Services Analyst to join our Core Application Services team within our Information Services Group. Using your knowledge of the operations of our enterprise applications, you will provide solutions for enhancements, triage issues, perform Incident and problem analysis as well as support work with vendors and internal support to resolve issues. This is an opportunity to use your honed skills to configure changes within the application to maximize system availability time and support user needs.

How you’ll spend your time:
Strategy & Planning
Shares business application product knowledge within the CAS team.
Contributes to solution design and alternatives for enhancement and development requests aligned to business needs.

Acquisition & Deployment
Involvement and support to Release Team in the proper deployment of changes and enhancements to existing business applications.
Supports senior analyst with impact assessment of changes to business applications.
Involvement and support to the Help Desk (Service Desk) Team with changes and enhancements relating to application user roles and privileges.
Collect data requirements and prepare DM loads for bulk record updates to the banking application when new services are created, changes to services/products or corrections are required as per business requests.

Operational and Personnel Management
Finds opportunities for quality and process improvements that can be satisfied by the system.
Performs analysis of new business requirements to ensure that the system can support or requires vendor modifications
Using business requirements created by business analysts, performs systems fit/gap analysis, impact analysis and preparation of functional design documents.
Assists with design and analysis on business systems applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems.
Partner with Business Analyst and Development resources to ensure the business requirements are met by the proposed and delivered solution(s)
Understand and supports application configuration as required.
Configures minor changes to application configurations with CWB and provides complete release objects to the release management team along with support during deployment.
Supports and maintains standards and procedures to ensure that configuration management controls are in place.
Investigates defects to determine if parameter changes are required prior to raising the defect with the Vendor. Assists with the troubleshooting and resolution of issues and/or reconciliation of data.
Participates in the analysis and assists Sr Functional Analyst with coordination of Vendor provided system updates/patches/developments/documentation with the release management team and conduct impact analysis.
Supports trouble shooting and prioritize changes and corrections to the system.
Contribute to the design of test strategies, plans and test cases.
Identify training impacts and collaborate with Business Operations for updates to internal documentation.

Essential Education & Experience:
Related undergraduate degree or diploma is considered an asset.
Minimum 3 years business and/or functional analysis experience, preferably in the financial services industry working on technology platforms (databases, application configuration, JAVA, etc.).
Knowledge of Project and Software Development Life Cycle Methodologies.
Knowledge of core banking application and loan origination systems (T24, WAVE, SUN GL, etc.) is considered an asset.
Experience in engaging Vendor Support to research and resolve issues.
Experience in system fit/gap analysis, impact analysis and preparation of functional design documents.
Experience in finding opportunities for system improvements in existing designs or by adopting new functionalities in the software.
Application centric knowledge (review of the application catalogue within CWB which the team will support).
Methods related to the specific COTS vendor / consultant.

Ability to effectively manage and resolve conflict.
Well organized and a self-starter, using thoughtful and strategic approaches that deliver results.
Demonstrated experience in fostering open and frequent communications within a team and with internal partners and vendors.
Ability to participate on multi-disciplinary work teams to achieve successful execution of complex implementation projects.
