The job location in which this position is based is flexible between Montreal and Toronto.
The Web Developer will contribute towards designing and developing the CCS’ customer-facing sites and cloud-based applications using web/mobile based technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, upgrading, and troubleshooting digital programs and solutions using web services and APIs. A solid understanding of Digital User Experience (UX) and the ability to collaborate with design and content experts as well as project team members will be key for success in this role.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Design, develop, test, install, support and optimize front-end web applications (frequently using Web API) to deliver mission and fundraising solutions and services
Build responsive and adaptive websites that meet usability and accessibility web standards and best practices
Work with the Digital Support/Operations team to establish training and support for existing and to be released solutions
Collaborate with Digital and IT teams to take full-stack applications to production, ensuring excellent quality, performance and end-to-end reliability
Work across technology stacks and with teams managing Sitecore CMS, Luminate Online Fundraising, Shopify Ecommerce, Salesforce etc. to leverage and integrate various APIs
Follow established coding procedures for the technology/platform using industry best practices with respect to security, privacy and government compliances
Work collaboratively with your People Leader, Senior Developers, Designers, QA team and Project Managers to ensure timely delivery and proper support to projects and activities
Work in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, and complies with the CCS’s Health & Safety Policy

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
Experience working with the full software development life cycle, including source code management, build processes and testing
2-3 years’ experience with ASP.NET, C# or another object-oriented programming language
Must have technical skills:
.NET (C++, VB) or similar OO language
IIS, Postgres, SQL
API and web services (for example: Blackbaud’s Luminate Online - http://open.convio.com/api/#main)
Nice to have technical skills:
Experience with cloud-based environments such as Microsoft Azure
IIS, Apache, nginx
Good communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
A team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision and a desire to learn and understand “new to business” technologies
Bilingual (English/French) an asset.
Ability to work occasionally outside of regular office hours
