Salary: $110,000 - $130,000


Reporting to the Sr. Plant Manager for Stoney Creek, the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for assuring that incoming and outgoing product quality meets the quality requirements as established between the company and its customers. They are responsible for assuring, by means of inspection, testing and audits, that the processes and procedures are operating as specified by the Quality System and that corrective action is implemented for non-conformances. In addition, the QA Manager will ensure the smooth management of all QA personnel and functions, ensuring the ongoing adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System and encouraging continuous improvement wherever possible.

Maintain required quality positions for all shifts, ensuring all personnel are properly trained, competent and fully knowledgeable of all the Company's health and safety rules and the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System policies and procedures.
Manage all QA personnel, assigning responsibilities and ensuring all policies and procedures of the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System are followed at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, handling employee concerns, reviewing performance, hiring and orientation of new employees, discipline and training.
Plan, co-ordinate, organize, manage and review internal quality audits of the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System to ensure conformance to standards; ensure all auditors are properly trained and capable of carrying out the audits; follow up all non-conformances found during audits to ensure corrective action has been taken.
Ensure all testing and measuring equipment is maintained, verified and accurate as per the procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System.

In conjunction with the Sr. Plant Manager Stoney Creek, and VP/GM; prepare annual budget and monitor performance of Quality department, providing explanations for variances to budget.
In conjunction with other departments, analyze product defects and non-conformances and develop, implement and verify corrective actions, Pareto analysis of defects, reviews of customer concerns and returns, Waivers of Deviation.
Promote quality awareness throughout the Company, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement and corrective action.
Make recommendations to the Plant Manager on changes to procedures, purchases of new quality assurance equipment, or any plant/process/equipment improvements.
In conjunction with the Controller, implement a Cost of Quality program to provide financial visibility of the cost of poor quality.
Ensure FMEA's , PPAP's are performed and Control Plans prepared, or updated, for all new programs, colours or changes to existing programs or processes as outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System.
Approve and disposition all returned non-conforming material from the customer (RMA's) in accordance with the procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System. Advise production and accounting departments; maintain records.
Ownership of Customer contact and Liason's for all customers, including Liasion structure / hours, escalation and managing single point contact for respective Tiercon point of ship sites
Ensure all quality records are recorded, verified and maintained as outlined in the Quality System procedures.
Prepare monthly updates for management on quality trends, defect sources and recommended corrective actions.
Perform duties as assigned from time to time by manager.
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of the Quality Engineers
Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the Quality engineering and technical work performed in the department
Consult and negotiate with customers to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings
Assign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the department and project teams
Recruit personnel and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas
May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department.

Work in compliance with current legislation and regulations.
Use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the Employer.
Report to the Employer or Supervisor any known missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous.
Report any known workplace hazard to the Employer or Supervisor.
Report any known violation of the Act or regulations to the Employer or Supervisor.
Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Employer or by the regulations.
Not use or operate any equipment or work in a way that may endanger any Worker.
Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.

Engineering degree in a related field
10+ years of Automotive Quality Management experience as a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier
10+ years of experience managing or supervising employees
Demonstrated experience with injection molding, assembly, stamping, extrusions, paint, E coat
Experience with automotive class A surface products, painted material including plastic, steel, aluminum
Ability to travel internationally
Demonstrated experience with a variety of products in mass production, accessories and service is considered an asset
Experience with a variety of customers including GM, VW, Toyota, FCA, Mopar, ABC and/or Ford is considered an asset
IATF lead auditor certification is considered an asset
Multilingual in English and Spanish is considered an asset, due to customer locations


Know and understand the Environmental Policy.
Know what to do in case of an Emergency Emergency Evacuation and Spill Response.
Evacuate the building during when you hear a fire alarm.
Report all spills to your Supervisor.
Know the significant environmental aspects of the work activities in your department.


To be familiar with and practice and promote all aspects of the ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality System and Health & Safety policies.
To Be familiar with Current BIQS (GM) VQA (VW), FCA, Toyota, and Ford customer requirements is considered an asset
