We are looking for professional Guest Services and Retail Associates capable of attending to our establishment with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. The applicant will be serving our guests’ needs while maintaining the company’s high standards of excellence, delivered with a genuine warm and welcoming style of service.
Duties: (may include but not limited to)
Deal with complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
Maintain equipment and promptly notify superiors of any damages, deficits and disturbances.
Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of all company-related policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management. This may include cross training for other position within the company.
Answer inquiries via email and telephone, using professional language and etiquette.
Make and manage accommodation reservations.
Process all guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, deposits, and room payment.
Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of all consumables office and accommodation items as appropriate.
Provide directions and up to date info about local amenities and features to guests.
Strong product knowledge of our ‘locals first’ approach to retail stock.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of all retail items as appropriate.
Assist with end of the month inventory and reports.
Process purchases and cash handling according to company policy.
Experience and skills required:
Will be a dedicated, keen and self-disciplined individual with a sincere desire to provide excellent customer service within a high volume environment while maintaining a motivated and organized environment for fellow employees.
Minimum of 2 years of Hospitality/Retail experience in a Customer Service role within a Resort or Hotel environment.
Minimum of 1 year of Food and Beverage experience, preferably in a café style establishment.
Professional experience and a strong personal interest in outdoor education and adventure tourism.
Experience working with families or children.
Strong communication skills to confidently explain information and converse with guests.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Proficient in at least one other language.
Intermediate to advanced computer and/or graphic design skills (Microsoft Office, Photoshop, etc.).
Organizational skills to effectively process all reservations, purchases, paper work and reports.
Proven comfort and success while living in remote communities or away from close family and friends for extended periods of time.
Approachable, customer-oriented and friendly.
Strong prioritization and time management skills.
Fine attention to detail.
Professional phone etiquette.
Must be able to multi-task and maintain a professional and upbeat demeanor while under pressure.
Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
Physical requirements: walk, stand, twist and bend for periods of time and able to lift 25kg. Be able to hear, speak and see without impairment
