We are actively looking for Accounting & Finance Interns who are interested in gaining experience within a Corporate environment and have a general interest in real estate to join our team in September 2020. Intern, Portfolio Accounting (Vancouver) Reporting directly to the Controller, the role of the Intern, Portfolio Accounting at QuadReal Property Group is to assist in the accounting and reporting for the Portfolio Accounting team. This role will begin with basic entry level reconciliations and increase to compilation of reports following comprehensive training and additional experience.

Preparation of monthly and quarterly reports – income, accounts receivables, and leasing
Assist in the compilation of the monthly and quarterly financial statements
Assist in the compilation of the quarterly reporting package
Mapping and loading of financial information into consolidation ERP
Processing of portfolio level invoices
Preparation of Statistics Canada reports
Journal entry processing
File management

Experience and Qualifications

Enrolled in a Business/Commerce degree program in a Post Secondary Institution
Computer Skills – Advanced skills in Excel, & Word. Yardi accounting system experience would be helpful.
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities; willing to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment; organized; detail-oriented and a self starter.
Decision Making Skills – Identify and analyze problems for reference to supervisor on non-routine issues. Resolve issues in a timely manner on daily responsibilities.
Relationship Skills – Excellent communication, oral and written; able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; able to be flexible and work with all types of personalities; able to exercise confidentiality and places a priority on client service.

Intern, International Finance (Vancouver) Reporting directly to the Senior Fund Administrator, the role of the Intern, International Finance at QuadReal Property Group is to assist in the deployment & distribution of capital across the QuadReal International Portfolio. Intern, International Finance will begin with preparing inter-company and external cashflow transactions following comprehensive training and additional experience.

Processing portfolio level invoices
Updating of complex organization structure charts
Reviewing international capital call requests and distribution notices
Preparing cashflows in a timely manner to meet our international investment partners capital requirements
Working and collaborating with internal and external parties on large ticket transactions
Monitoring investment commitments and remaining equity
Maintaining clean transaction files in line with audit requirements
Assisting with audit preparation

Experience and Qualifications

Education – Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Accounting or Finance
Experience – Finance and Banking experience an asset
Computer Skills – Advanced skills in Excel and MS Office applications
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills – Ability to allocate one’s time effectively, work under pressure and manage deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities; willing to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment; organized; detail-oriented and a self starter.

Intern, Corporate Accounting (Vancouver) Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, the role of the Intern, Corporate Accounting at QuadReal Property Group is to assist in the accounting and reporting functions with the opportunity to participate in data analytics and the audit process. The Intern, Corporate Accounting will begin with basic entry level reconciliations and increase to compilation of reports following comprehensive training and additional experience.

Assist in the compilation of the quarterly reporting package

Experience and Qualifications

Enrolled in CPA program (asset)
Computer Skills – Advanced skills in Excel, including familiarity with Pivot Tables & VLook Up
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities; willing to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment; organized; detail-oriented and a self starter.

Intern, Tax Analyst (Vancouver) Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Tax Compliance the role of the Intern, Tax Analyst plays an important role on the Tax Team.

Assist with the creation and maintenance of a database of tax advice, memos, structure charts
Preparation of various international tax forms including residency and withholding tax certifications
Assist with indirect tax matters including GST registration, competition of indirect tax checklists
Assist with post implementation testing of Yardi tax calculations and reporting
Assist with the preparation of Canadian and US income tax returns
Asst with implementing a process for tracking tax compliance done by JV and REIT Managers
Work with other members of the Tax Team on tax planning and strategic initiatives
Creation of tax structure charts
Maintain template of tax basis tracking in all taxable investments
Assist with implementation of Project Simplify – preparing flowcharts, drafting narratives and booking meetings
Assist with various tax administrative tasks and other ad hoc requests as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

Enrolled in a Business/Commerce Degree Program with a specialization in Accounting or Finance
