Under the direction of the Team Lead, Event-Based Marketing, this job is accountable for providing day-to-day operational and event management for both internal and external events for BMO Financial Group. These events are highly visible and involve clients as well as senior-level executives. The role involves project management, onsite execution, partner relationships, sourcing internal and external vendors/suppliers, and venue research & negotiations/contracting and overseeing special projects. Must represent the organization with professionalism, courtesy and integrity.
Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness (40%)
Delivery of consistently great client experiences through expertly managed events and meetings.
Execution for internal & external conferences and events of cross-border groups.
Provide guidance and advice to clients on proper event logistics & details, based on objectives.
Provide direction and supervision to Coordinators and Managers
Client and Relationship Management (40%)
Manage executives and clients as they participate in BMO events and conferences
Manage and work with colleagues and BMO FG employees through meetings, events and conferences
Represent BMO with professionalism, courtesy and integrity
Strategic Scope (10%)
Assist Senior Manager and Team Lead in creating synergies between Canada and the U.S. EBM team
Provide strategic insights on cost effective and efficient solutions
Manage strong client and vendor relationships
Oversee special projects that help motivate and drive collaboration and performance
Risk Management and Control (20%)
Responsibility for ensuring standards are applied to all conferences and events
Responsibility for quality control of conferences and events
Maintain financial records and approvals on EBM shared drive
Ensure adherence to EBM event processes and protocols to minimize risk
Knowledge and Skills
7+ years work experience in event and project management
Event Planning College Certificate and/or Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation considered an asset(s)
Fundamental understanding of banking as well as knowledge of products and services
Awareness of financial services competitive marketplace and trends
French considered an asset
Professional polish and ability to interact with senior executives and clients.
Team player, motivated and committed, self-starter and quick learner, confident, assertive.
Flexibility and ability to work in ambiguity and under pressure, as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously and resolve conflicts on site
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Solid written communication skills
Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Adobe Acrobat
Strong knowledge of Cvent
