Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Company Health & Safety Program (COR & NSC)
  • Assist in the implementation of Health & Safety Policies, Practices, & Procedures
  • Provide updates to Policies, Practices, & Procedures to ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations
  • Perform Site Inspections, assist with hazard identification/control, complete Incident Investigations as required
  • Coordinate Safety Meetings in accordance with the Company's policies
  • Coordinate training courses for employees and monitor training ticket expiry dates
  • Perform an annual Internal Audit and facilitate an External Audit (every 3 years)
  • Maintain records in compliance with AB Transportation and NSC requirements - potential to facilitate an External NSC Audit
  • Act as a Safety Representative for the Company
  • Monitor and maintain Health & Safety Compliance Sites (Avetta and ComplyWorks)
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment


  • Effective communication skills - oral and written
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicting priorities
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • 2-3 years as a Health & Safety Administrator would be ideal
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships would be an asset, but not required

The successful candidate must be able to work between 30-40 hours/week. A flexible work schedule can be negotiated.
