What We Are Looking For:
Aird & Berlis LLP is currently seeking a billing clerk who is energetic, detailed oriented and a self-starter to join our fast paced billing team. If you have experience with billing or you’re a recent graduate of an accounting program, this would be a great opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:
Classifying monthly work-in-progress reports for billing
Prepare pre-bills/bills including making corrections to docket entries
Accurate data entry, correcting errors, proof-reading
Ensure compliance with client and lawyer guidelines, required bill formats and content
Follow up with legal assistants and lawyers regarding billing matters and queries along with maintaining monthly billing schedules and reports
Monthly filing
Preparing and updating billing notes/manuals
Participate in training and/or improvement initiatives
Produce the highest quality of work
Accountable for all work assigned
Takes initiative
Confidential

Requirements:
Recent graduate of a post-secondary accounting program is considered an asset
Previous administrative experience within accounting and/or billing would be preferable
Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands

Skills:
MS Office Suite of Applications 2013
The right candidate will possess a solid knowledge of basic accounting principles and math skills
Experience working with legal accounting software will be an asset (training will be available for our system - Acumin)
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to problem solve
Good judgement and decision making
Strong interpersonal skills
