WANTED: :An energetic, self motivated Water/Wastewater Mechanical Engineer:, who is an excellent communicator, with 10-15 years experience in water/wastewater pumping design, HVAC, and plumbing design.

Responsibilities::
  • Designs a variety of large complex projects with focus on mechanical systems for water and wastewater projects;
  • Provide HVAC and plumbing design according to latest codes
  • Develop process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs);
  • Applying NFPA Guidelines including publication 20 and 820;
  • Provides technical direction, assigns, and coordinates mechanical work to Drafters;
  • Participate in job site visits to serve as the mechanical technical project representative during construction;
  • Consults with various internal groups and units, manufacturers, suppliers, consultants and contractors;
  • Troubleshoots mechanical equipment, construction, maintenance and operation issues and problems;
  • Prepares mechanical cost estimates;
  • Attends necessary meetings and follows through on recommendations;
  • Prepare technical specifications; and
  • Direct and assist the commissioning of water/wastewater pumping facilities and HVAC systems.
Requirements::
  • Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Registered Professional Engineer (EGBC);
  • Experience working for a consulting engineering firm is required
  • Experience working with ANSI, NFPA, AWWA and applicable local design codes is required
