Kwantlen Polytechnic University has an immediate opening working with KPU International as the International Exchange and Student Affairs Coordinator. This is a full-time regular position at our Richmond campus.
The International Exchange and Student Affairs Coordinator position is responsible for designing, planning, delivering and evaluating student activities, workshops and events for KPU International. Specifically, the coordinator will: deliver presentations for pre-departure and re-entry of international experiences for KPU students; develop and implement communication strategies to promote activities, events and workshops for domestic and international students; coordinate the Orientation activities and events for all new international students; liaise with and provide non-academic guidance and advice to help integrate international students and student groups into the Kwantlen community and the BC lifestyle; oversee resource centre for current international exchange students and domestic students. In addition, the coordinator will need to provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff, student leaders and volunteers.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Canadian or international post-secondary institution with a minimum of three years of experience working in a role that was responsible for coordinating international student exchange and mobility in a post-secondary environment. Personal experience as a study abroad student preferred. The incumbent must have full command of the English language, both written and oral as well as fluency in a second language spoken in one of KPU’s target markets (Spanish is an asset). The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate a number of projects simultaneously, attending accurately to detail, and meeting deadlines as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with University administration, faculty, staff, students and external community services representatives. Demonstrated competence with budget monitoring and expenditure control. Must be able to lift and carry materials in the range of 30 to 50 lbs.
