Job Summary

The Procurement & Supply Management (P&SM) team supports the safety and sustainable service by transforming how CN does business, looking to create a culture of innovation supported by leading procurement technology solutions to complement the strategic direction and processes.

With the P&SM Technology team, the P&SM Technology Analyst is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery and ongoing support of selected procurement and supply chain related systems and IT infrastructure projects. The incumbent will define and implement an enterprise-level vision and strategy to enhance master data capabilities for operational, analytical and reporting needs with a focus on key master data domains (e.g. Material Master). This role is responsible for supporting and executing key project activities, including data readiness activities and supplier enablement support for the eProcurement Project.

Main Responsibilities
Analysis – 60%
Define and track various success metrics
Ensure troubleshooting of issues by phone and face to face with various users and suppliers
Manipulate large data sets
Resolve data quality issues with the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvements
Support and Communication – 40%
Coordinate and communicate on various initiatives with other team members and cross functionally
Collaborate with working teams to define and execute different project initiatives
Provide end-user support and training on Sourcing to Pay processes
Support key P&SM systems, including Ariba, AMIS, SAP MM, Logistics, Invoice Correction CITRIX, FMR, Fieldglass, and SharePoint
Support procurement business processes
Support the development and ongoing training necessary for full utilization of SAP MM, including developing and delivering training materials (courses, support documents, job aids, UPK’s)
Working Conditions

This role requires minimal on site travel.


Business System Analytical and Management

2 to 3 years in Business System Analytical and Management
Experience in various modules in SAP Ariba: Sourcing, Contract Management, and P2P
Experience in Material Management module SAP ECC
Experience in extrapolating pertinent information from various sources (reports and spreadsheets) and analyze data for recommendations
Familiar with CN Business processes*
Experience as a SharePoint administrator and experience in building forms; maintain SharePoint site, access roles and other administrator functionalities*

  • Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration (concentration in Management Information System) or related technology focused field, or equivalency
Equivalencies will be considered as one year of directly related experience for one year of education

Demonstrate awareness of Rail Transportation or logistics industry and Procurement & Supply Chain, and ability to identify IT needs based on changing requirements and trends
Demonstrating knowledge of a wide selection of business analysis tools and techniques
Advanced knowledge in Excel
