Reporting to the Equipment and Plant Director, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for tracking all maintenance on CAT equipment onsite. This includes tracking and scheduling maintenance, repairs and hours on each piece of equipment.

Please note: this position requires the successful candidate to be on a 5/2 rotation.


Ensures maintenance of safety and quality standards
Updates, maintains and issues daily Equipment Up/Down list
Creates, updates, and maintains Equipment Master Lubricant schedule and preventative maintenance for upcoming maintenance due
Formulates preventative maintenance parts list and assigns asset codes for each unit, maintains asset list and reviews daily visual inspections
Enters machine work hours on spreadsheet/applicable software, identifies under-utilized equipment
Schedules and books equipment for servicing
Manages the Equipment Master list, Light Vehicle list, and project master equipment schedule with accuracy
Coordinates, schedules and tracks outsourced maintenance work
Generates, maintains, updates, and issues daily and weekly equipment utilization and rental reports
Sends, retrieves, and reviews S.O.S information, file results
Identifies issues indicated on daily visual inspections, flags appropriately by communicating to supervisor while generating backlog
Tracks, coordinates and schedules outsourced work and work orders on and off site
Retains and notifies appropriate contacts for hazardous waste disposal
Identifies and prepares parts required for preventative maintenance and to be returned to vendors
Constructs and reviews shift cross over documentation
Tracks vehicle registration and quantities of services performed monthly and generate report
Provides preventative maintenance procedures, prepares package for equipment, including parts, components, consumables and specific work procedures
Ensures parts are available in warehouse by placing timely requests
Performs support tasks as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
Familiar with scheduling software
Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize
Knowledge of maintenance processes
Excellent communication skills
Collaborative working style
Able to interact with all levels of management including senior leadership
Knowledge and ability to work with systems that manage work flow for maintenance environments

Experience/ Qualifications

2+ years of maintenance scheduling and planning experience
“Can Do” attitude with a high level of customer service
Desire to learn a variety of skills and processes related to maintenance planning
