The Jr. Database Administrator under the guidance of a Sr. DBA will assist with designing and implementing database and systems solutions for automated material handling software systems and equipment in warehouses and distribution centers. This position requires knowledge about databases (with a focus on Oracle), Operating systems (with a focus on Linux, Unix and AIX), various scripting languages,hardware and network design.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database solutions as well as server hardware and operating system solutions, based on software and system requirement specifications
  • Develop database and system test scenarios and execute tests
  • Independently manage all aspects related to database and system within assigned projects
  • Create system specifications for various areas within assigned projects
  • Create database and system documentation
  • Proactively monitor database sand systems
  • Actively communicate with team members, IT Project Manager and DBA Lead about the work and project status
  • Actively report issues to IT Project Manager and DBA Lead
  • Participate in team meetings on n as-needed basis
  • Support system ramp-up and go-live
  • Troubleshoot system issues in 1st,2nd or 3rd level depending on project requirements
  • Support IT CSS engineers, on-site Software Support Engineers and IT Software Developers
  • Effectively communicate with customers if required

Qualification Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in similar work
  • 3 years of experience with the administration of SQL databases, preferably Oracle
  • 3 years of experience with the design and implementation of complex multi-node server environments
  • International travel for training,project assignments, and commissioning may be required
  • Ability to work on-call in 1st,2nd, or 3rd level
  • Experience in dealing with Problem and Change management requests using Jira
  • Experience with Installation of OS (Linux systems) hardening etc
  • Experience connecting servers to monitoring tools (Cricket or Nagios)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year


  • SQL/Oracle/MySQL: 1 year (Required)
  • Nagios/Cricket: 1 year (Required)


  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (Preferred)
