Description
The Facilities Manager's primary function is to oversee and manage all aspects of the building facility management requirements.
Maintain a high focus on customer satisfaction.
Ensures productivity and successful operation of building facilities by ensuring KPI and customer service aligns.
Ensure building issues are dealt with quickly and effectively and that customer relationships and ISO management practices are in place.
Supervision of small facilities team.
Management of environmental and energy initiatives.
Overall responsibility for leading, implementing and the successful delivery of projects (both small and major capital.)
Mid and long-term asset management planning.
Management of key performance indicator (KPI) expectations.
Management and creation of the facilities budget.
Communicates regularly with all stakeholders on the status of building operations, which includes the client, suppliers and internal management.
Identify customer building issues and the impact to the business. Manage all issues effectively within a timely manner.
Manage procurement activity, equipment purchases and rentals, and subcontracts as required.
Approves all project and facilities expenditures.
Assemble and maintain accurate files and document all key deliverables.
Identifies further opportunities within the facilities and acts upon them.
Builds and maintains excellent client relationships.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
Adhere to the Company's Quality System operating procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications
A Post-Secondary diploma or degree in Facility Management or a BPMA and/or IFMA designation, would be an asset.
Minimum 5-8 years related experience working in a large, complex building environment.
Extensive experience in maintaining and managing building services/ systems using contractors and in-house staff.
Positive attitude and a self-starter who has the ability to motivate others to achieve results.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of internal and external individuals.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a heavy workload.
Proven systematic and organized approach to multi-tasking.
Effective customer service as well as verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project applications.

Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, time management and conflict resolution skills.
Financial management- experience forecasting & budgeting.
Proven knowledge of building management, project management and budgeting skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proven ability to establish, build and maintain strong interpersonal networks/relationships across a variety of functions and industries.
Enjoy the challenge of problem solving and come up with well thought through practical solutions.
Ability to be proactive and energetic in the work situation, seeking to get things done while dealing with a variety of tasks.
