As a result of our expansion into the US market, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Manager, Regulatory Affairs located in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic area of the United States. Leveraging your in-depth understanding of the various National Independent Systems Operators (ISO) electricity and gas markets, you will identify market opportunities to deliver sustainable energy solutions that provide clients with opportunities to reduce their total energy spend, optimize their distributed resource footprint and enhance overall system efficiency.
Through your extensive industry network, you will investigate, recommend and manage a broad range of policy and regulatory initiatives for the customer base. Furthermore, you will perform strategic market analysis in support of new product development and new market entry initiatives.
Maintain comprehensive understanding of regulatory issues and market developments relating to demand response (DR) and distributed energy resources (DER) in US energy markets at the ISO level
Identify opportunities to assist utilities with non-wire alternatives
Investigate and recommend optimum distributed energy resource profiles that enhance use of sustainable energy and reduce overall customer energy spend
Maintain related stakeholder relationships at the Federal, State and Municipal levels and advocate for various policy initiatives and market rules
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience
In-depth understanding of energy and capacity markets, particularly in demand response activities, including auction strategy, asset nomination, and asset optimization
Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal energy markets and policies as well as the various national ISO electricity markets, state incentives and utility programs
Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, ideally focused on Policy, Government Relations, Engineering, Economics or Environmental Science
Highly polished and professional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a simple and concise way (written and verbal) to both internal and external stakeholders, adapting your style and content for the audience
Proactive “can-do” approach, ability and willingness to quickly grasp and tackle new topics and take initiative
Ability to innovate, think laterally and highlight new areas of business risk and opportunity
Curious, analytical and detail oriented
Strong capabilities in networking, coalescing opinions and positions, multi-tasking and prioritizing
Willingness to be a pro-active communicator internally and externally
Financial modelling and analysis of large sets of data quickly and accurately
Entrepreneurial, inquisitive, ethical, self-starter
Willingness to work remotely and flexibility to travel when needed
Ability to travel internationally as required, without restriction
