Software Product Manager
Full-time, permanent position

The Ariel EAS team at Morneau Shepell is a dynamic team of over 200 talented and motivated professionals who work collaboratively to develop, implement and support a best-in-class pension and benefits management software product serving predominately public sector clients. The Ariel EAS team is key to furthering Morneau Shepell’s mission and strategic goals.

The Software Product Manager (SPM) is a key senior role to ensure we solution the right product and business capabilities, work on the right priorities and know where our product is headed. You will own the product component strategy, roadmap and delivery. You will work closely, collaboratively and diligently with other SPMs, Product Owners, the Agile Portfolio Manager, Initiative Owners, implementation teams and development teams to achieve your objectives.
Own the product component backlog; prioritization and sequencing across multiple business and client priorities and manage dependencies across various teams, if required;
Product Increment (PI): proactively plan and prepare for PI Planning and subsequent PIs. If required, facilitate PI planning to ensure objectives are met;
Develop the product roadmap with consultation with the Product Owners, Initiative Owners and Clients to meet evolving client/business needs;
Provide guidance and information to Agile Portfolio Manager to optimize Product delivery plan;
Proactively collaborate with implementation teams to propose optimal solutions to clients;
Actively work with delivery teams to ensure optimal incremental development that meets business and client requirements;
Actively work with delivery teams to help resolve impediments to ensure timely delivery;
Review and approve new backlog ideas/requests to ensure they align to the product roadmap;
Embark on continuous improvement initiatives to ensure effective and optimal product development and delivery;
Lead by example – exhibit an Agile mindset and behaviours, be proactive, seek to understand, simplify, mentor and coach junior practitioners.
To suceed as a Software Product Manager will require the core qualifications and skills :

University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Actuarial Sciences, or a relevant field;
5-10 years of experience in portfolio management or product development;
At least 3-5 years’ experience in Agile product development or Agile product delivery;
Experience in package software (e.g. ERP) product development and product delivery;
Experience working in large complex environments;
Knowledge of pension & benefits market would be an asset;
Related SAFe Certifications would be an asset
