Role: Sales Development Representative

Start Date: Early Fall 2020

Compensation: Full-time, Salary + Commission

Location: Remote (Covid-19)
Manifest Labs is an award-winning, early-stage software company based in Calgary, Alberta. Seeking a capable candidate with strong values alignment for a role as Sales Development Representative to support the business development activities of driving the growth of our premier product, KnowHow. *

KnowHow is a mobile and desktop-based software product used by US-based Blue Collar service companies to improve project profitability, customer satisfaction, staff productivity, management capacity and improve overall company performance through an intuitive ‘how-to’ hub that lives at the core of the organization, providing staff with instant access to how to execute every aspect of their roles. With KnowHow, every area of the business experiences significant productivity gains and management accelerates growth without compromising on the quality of execution.

After receiving training and coaching, a successful candidate in this role will play a key role in executing:

  • Leading targeted outbound marketing activities
  • Engaging directly with hundreds of prospective clients
  • Completing discovery qualifying meetings to identify optimal sales opportunities
  • Working closely with Account Executives to
  • Maintaining associated software and data systems.

Responsibilities: KnowHow is looking for our first Sales Development Representative to take our customer acquisition team to the next level. You will research and identify high-potential sales leads, convert leads into sales opportunities, and connect with customers large and small over the phone and via email. In addition, you will own and build a sales pipeline by working collaboratively with the Sales Team, the Customer Success team and the CEO.

  • Identify and reach decision makers at target companies
  • Qualify and convert new leads into opportunity through well planned and executed efforts
  • Prioritize and organize day-to-day activities to ensure all sales quota and management objectives are met
  • Manage and track leads via CRM while maintaining accurate and up to date records
  • Become an expert in product usage, knowing the KnowHow product from top to bottom
  • Meet opportunity targets
  • Help create and prioritize strategic target account lists and contacts within a defined territory
  • Research accounts and identify key players
  • Generate interest through discovery calls and email campaigns
  • Provide software product demonstrations


  • Experience with a modern sales technology stack (Salesforce, Hubspot, Outreach, Salesloft, Google Slack, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.)
  • Tenacious and relentless effort in pursuit of meeting or exceeding a sales plan
  • Superb communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent online research skills
  • Outgoing, extraverted personality (the idea of talking with people all day is energizing)
  • Exceptional sourcing skills to uncover potential customers and decision makers
  • Humble personality, no job is too small and being a team player willing to help out wherever possible
  • Positive thinking and open to working through challenges
  • Strong desire to never stop learning or growing professionally
  • Coachable individual who seeks out feedback in order to learn and achieve peak performance
  • Strong ‘team orientation’, experience as a positive team player (supported by references)

An optimal candidate will have:

  • Experience as an SDR
  • Sales experience in Saas/Technology
  • Strong familiarity with using CRM software (Hubspot, etc)
  • Tech savvy and willing to learn new tools
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Blue Collar service industry experience (trades, construction, hospitality)

Applicant requirements:

  • Have a dedicated ‘work from home’ office space to ensure a quite location to make calls
  • Must be either a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (legally work in Canada).
  • Must have a native fluency in English (written and spoken) as target market is English-speaking.
  • The company can provide required computer equipment if necessary
