Gracenote , a Nielsen Company is the leading provider of entertainment metadata and media recognition technology that powers discovery features for top TV, music, sports and automotive platforms.

The Senior Product Manager will be based in Halifax and responsible for leading product development efforts across our core Sports products, with a focus on Global Sports Data, Gracenote's unified API and premier source for worldwide sports metadata. Gracenote customers can use this single data set to expand or strengthen their international presence and develop innovative new products.

The Senior Product Manager will collaborate with talented internal teams from Engineering, Content, Customer Experience, and Sales, as well as Product Managers from other Nielsen and Gracenote verticals. This individual will be responsible for maintaining current offerings but their true focus will be on creating new innovative sports products for digital, consumer electronic, video and automotive solutions. To be that all-star, we are looking for a self-starter who has vision and passion for everything sports. You are someone who can work well independently as well as collaboratively and are able to proactively develop and run with your ideas from concept to execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work to streamline the execution of our complex roadmap.
Clearly define and evolve product strategy based on insightful analysis of customer needs, competitors, market trends and opportunities, and Nielsen and Gracenote core competencies.
Deepen our ability to execute by providing world-class Product requirements and detailed workflows to minimize changes once development is underway.
Ensure that product definition, engineering, and other aspects of product development come together seamlessly throughout the product lifecycle in a lean environment, always balancing customers needs and engineering constraints.
Effectively collaborate with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, Content, Sales, Customer Experience and other functions.
Manage the portfolio of products/features to maximize our P&L.
Responsible for vision, planning and creation of high level user stories describing the “what” (end-to-end user journeys) of product features.
Understands and can clearly communicate the goals and strategic fit of product features.
Able to prioritize the user stories for all product features based on business value on an overall product backlog.
Creates release plans for product features.
Works together with Product Owners and Project Management to determine the prioritization of work on the Product Backlog for specific teams.
Together with Marketing, makes sure the Google Site for a product is up to date with all the relevant information for Sales.
Support the product go-to-market strategy as needed with customer visits and product marketing and sales support.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor or equivalent degree in Business, Marketing or Computer Science, MBA is a plus
5+ years of increasing responsibility in product management or similar roles
Experience in sports metadata industry and/or analytics, is a big plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A sense of ownership and ability to drive issues to closure
Ability to listen to multiple perspectives, then make difficult decisions
Ability to operate independently
Ability to lead those that report directly as well as those that do not
Teamwork and teambuilding skills that will contribute directly to team success on assigned projects
Experience working within the Scrum framework
Experience with Jira
Desire to work in a fast-paced and fluid entrepreneurial environment
Initiative with a “can do” attitude, a strong work ethic, detail oriented and a willingness to roll up the sleeves to get things done in a fast paced work environment
