The Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Produce department at the Innisfail Food Store
Full-time: 40 hours/week
Availability requirements: early mornings (5:00 AM), days, evenings (up to 9:00 PM), and weekends.
Key Responsibilities in this role include:
Responsible for the overall operation of the produce department.
Supervise, hire, schedule and train staff on proper operation of the produce department: operating all equipment, safe food handling and preparation, kitchen safety techniques, handling stock, pricing and stocking merchandise, housekeeping standards, merchandise presentation, customer service, and follow-up on complaints.
Follow proper recruitment and orientation practices and ensure the administration of human resources policies to develop positive relationships with all Team Members.
Administer Team Member performance reviews.
Prepare annual budget and ensure claims, invoices and other paperwork is done according to Co-op policies and procedures.
Prepare, administer and be responsible for sales, margin, expenses, inventory and SPEH of the department.
Ensure all facilities and equipment meet the image checklist, management of assets and maintenance schedule.
Ensuring the quality and visual appearance of Produce Department merchandise.
Actively make marketing efforts, adhere to advertising standards and contribute input to Division marketing plans.
Stay knowledgeable of Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls and Co-op’s required response.
Excellent communication and customer service skills,
Experience working in a produce department,
Food Safe Level I,
Attention to detail and organization skills,
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
Ability to work independently and in a team,
Some heavy lifting is required (up to 50 lbs).
