We are looking for a motivated, collaborative & enthusiastic individual to join our Planning & Governance Team within Strategy & Transformation.
In this role you will be accountable for the Governance Framework of a fast-growing business unit within Wolters Kluwer - ‘Finance, Risk and Reporting’ (FRR). In this capacity you will interact directly with senior stakeholders to establish clear and transparent frameworks to help steer the organization towards achieving its strategic goals and objectives.
As Governance Manager you will engage with a large, diverse group of stakeholders to engage everyone on a successful execution of the business strategy. That includes virtually the entire organization, good networking and convincing will be required as well as tracking commitments and keeping finger on the pulse.
Key Individual Responsibilities:
FRR Governance Framework:
Establish and maintain a holistic Governance Framework, including policies, processes, and forums, to facilitate the execution of FRR’s strategy and achievement of objectives
Act as an advisor to senior stakeholders across the business on program and operational governance, ensuring clarity of objectives, accountability, timelines, KPIs, etc
Assess and maintain effective FRR Governance forums prioritizing “what matters” and improve the governance structures/forums at a BU and function/department level
Provide transparency on progress against FRR Objectives and Strategy
Develop and embed standard frameworks or templates for Program Management governance and Project/Program reporting
Internal Process Improvement:
Drive development of the operational governance, process and continuous improvement framework
Actively be part of building and rolling out the Operating Model (the Way of Working) by assisting with the definition of processes and procedures, liaising across relevant business stakeholders
Manage progress of process improvement initiatives and development of “best practices / guiding principles” focused on ensuring good quality, efficiency and collaboration between individuals and teams
Report progress and updates to executive and senior stakeholders
Manage relevant governance or central process to ensure process improvement
Investment Portfolio Management:
Drive product portfolio governance enabling interaction between the product and development departments
Manage and monitor the progress of the investment/product portfolio and providing clarity and transparency to exec stakeholders
Encourage and enable engagement between FRR and other GRC/WK teams
Qualifications and Skillset:
Education: Degree in economics/business/banking or information technology, or related, or equivalent experience is desired
Functional or technical experience of working with the Regulatory Reporting, Finance or Risk Management areas of a bank, financial services company or software vendor
Preferably 7+ years of relevant experience in governance role or project/program management, in a complex organization
Experience with Quality Management Systems, KPI, Dashboards – strong affinity with processes, continual improvement and other hands-on practical tools and practices to achieve results, is preferable
An understanding of aspects of software development and Quality Assurance, preferably with some exposure to standards like TQM, LEAN, AGILE, ISTQB, SIX SIGMA, is preferable
Experience working within a software development company is a plus
Excellent English speaking and writing skills
Effective communicator at all levels including in front of large groups
Team player, and able to work on own initiative. Assertive and results driven
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
