Project Manager, Digital Security Initiatives

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Project Manager, Digital Security Initiatives for a 12 month contract in Edmonton, Alberta.

Project Manager, Digital Security Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall project success through management of project quality, cost, and time constraints.
Work with senior management, project sponsors and all stakeholders to ensure business requirements and objectives are clearly documented and managed throughout the life of the project.
Negotiate with leaders throughout the University to resolve conflicts arising from resource constraints.
Use institutional tools, standards and processes to ensure that digital security projects are successfully planned, initiated, executed, implemented, and completed.
Facilitate working sessions to develop detailed specifications, integration and process requirements, solution design documents, test cases with acceptance criteria, and appropriate production readiness deliverables.
Manage project risk through regular quality assurance and risk reviews
CPM will work with CISO to understand overall enterprise risk implications of project, and actively prioritize security project implementations based on risks to AU (while adhering to typical project constraints, as projects the CPM will be responsible for are security related, incumbent must ensure that the primary objectives of a typical project (cost, schedule and scope) do not deemphasize the prioritized need to implement security controls).
Create project reporting metrics, develop project key risk indicators (and associated tolerances), aggressively track project risks, and proactively flags these risks long before tolerances are breached.
Develop project plans and associated communications in compliance with AU’s Digital Project Management Framework.
Assist in the project audit process.
Prepare agendas, lead and document weekly project status meetings with the requisite Stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with other project managers.
Provide coaching, training and education to staff as needed.
Participate in work plan development and evaluation of resource requirements so that all needed specialist skills are available and optimized.
Continue professional development as required to perform job duties and responsibilities.
Adhere to AU policies and code of conduct.
Other duties as assigned.

Project Manager, Digital Security Mandatory Skills

Minimum of 5 years progressive experience managing technology related projects, with an emphasis on cyber security technology implementation projects or related technology implementations.
Position requires a four-year degree in computer science, management or engineering, recognized in Canada. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
Excellent contract management skills. Experience working with a Managed Security Services Provider is an advantage.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards will be a definite advantage.
Understanding of cybersecurity risk management and risk mitigation strategies.
Ability to communicate project and technology risks effectively.
Strong negotiation skills to negotiate resources, changes, issues, budgets, and timelines.
Multi-tasking ability - must be comfortable with simultaneously managing multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, motivational, organizational, and planning skills.
Resourceful, creative and self-motivated.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to take a practical approach to dealing with shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Understanding of systems development methodology and direct experience with all aspects of systems analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
Demonstrated supervisory skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
