Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of Labor/Delivery and Postpartum unit, the Administrative Support V provides scheduling support to the Women and Children’s portfolio at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (RDRHC). The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, highly challenging, change oriented environment. Key responsibilities include supporting managers/delegates in terms of complex staffing issues, scheduling, timecard entry, clerical and administrative support (including recruitment management activities), approving staff requests daily, staff scheduling/rotations including annual vacation and Christmas holiday planning within the portfolio. The Administrative Support V will liaison with the Staffing Service Centre (SSC) Central Zone with key unit/staff/rotation changes impacting line assignments/work plans and rotations.

As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:
1-3 years’ experience in the staffing scheduling experience in health care with ESP required. Timekeeping/payroll experience is required. Knowledge of various applicable collective agreements and time reporting codes required. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Requires at least three years’ experience in a high stress, highly demanding and multitasking work environment. Requires an extremely high degree of customer service, problem solving, interpersonal skills and critical thinking. Fluency in the English language is required. Excellent written/verbal communication, negotiating, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required. Experience in using, interpreting and complying with union agreements is required. Understanding of pay premium codes and their impact on payroll, budget and benefits is required. Must have demonstrated consistent attention to detail. Must demonstrate consistent and sound decision-making ability. Must demonstrate superior time management and organizational skills. Must be flexible in order to accommodate competing and changing workload demands. Must have the ability to work under pressure with significant mental/visual demands, and handle competing, frequently changing priorities with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Human Resources experience is a definite asset.
