The Financial and Corporate Services Division is charged with the management, development and coordination of all fiscal activities for the Ministry. The Finance and Decision Support Branch is concerned with the effective and efficient utilization of Ministry financial resources. This encompasses the development of the Ministry short-range financial plans (annual expenditure and revenue estimates) and long-range financial plans, the establishment of performance indicators, integration with Government plans and priorities, the establishment of systems of budgetary control and the active review of performance in relation to plans.

In this role you will develop and provide accounting functions regarding the reporting of information from health authorities and hospital societies for inclusion in the Estimates, Quarterly Reports and Public Accounts for government; research and analysis, including detailed cost and impact analysis, of labour negotiations and settlements and other compensation issues for the health entities; identifies and defines business improvements and system requirements/enhancements to facilitate required reporting; and reviews and analyzes financial reports and/or compensation issues for the health entities.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Completion of a recognized Professional Accounting Designation such as a CPA, CA, CGA or CMA;
A Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Business or Public Administration.
Progressively more responsible accounting experience analyzing and preparing complex financial statements, notes or schedules.
Experience preparing financial reports, preferably with consolidation of multiple complex entities - routine and ad hoc.
Experience providing direction and advice on a variety of financial, accounting management and/or compensation issues.
Experience analyzing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial action.
Experience working in a computerized environment, with complex spreadsheet applications and sophisticated reporting tools.
