Our client is a well-respected organization based in downtown Vancouver. The Accounting team is significant to the Company by ensuring accurate accounting of payroll and operations. As an integral part of this team, you will be responsible for all the accounting and some management functions. You have a desire for continuous improvement and contributing to the success of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all accounting, financial records and contracts are complete, accurate, timely and in compliance with industry and government regulations
  • Full-cycle business unit accounting including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger, financial statements and related responsibilities
  • Effective liaison with outside auditors and supervision and mentoring of accounting staff
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, and advocate sound financial/business decision making
  • Assist in annual budgeting process, track actual to budget/forecasts along with associated variance analysis and reporting
  • Prepare and maintain monthly and weekly corporate financial reporting and complete other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Provide operational KPI preparation, review and analysis, undertake business process review and analysis
  • Address financial enquiries from the management team
  • Work on continuous improvement projects within the Accounting scope

Requirements

  • CPA and 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience required; MBA preferred
  • Previous management/supervisory experience
  • Full understanding of accounting concepts and internal control processes
  • Conversant with computerized systems, cloud based accounting systems
  • Advanced problem solving/analytical skills; advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail; excellent analytical and problem solving skills; independent worker and thinker
  • Positive attitude with strong ability to work in an ever-changing environment and handle multiple tasks and projects; prioritize, and organize effectively
  • Accomplished team player that takes pride in continually raising the standards of personal performance and development, and of those around them

  • Fluent in English; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and leadership skills
