The Production planner will focus on functions covering work package assessment, maintenance task databank review, tasks scheduling, and control of technical documentation, maintenance check coordination, and preparation for the required materials and tools to carry out the planned aircraft maintenance schedule.
Review statement of work;
Retrieve all CAMP cards, flight docs, STLMC;
Identify all the tasks involved on the upcoming heavy maintenance visit package;
Complete the full package for each task (Copies of the aircraft manual section for the task, materials, tooling);
Ensure that all tasks have Work Orders in the automated system (JDE) with labor hours identified;
Plan Manpower requirements (detailed number of resources and hours by trade);
Plan tooling requirements (create request for purchase order for special tooling & ensure required tools are calibrated);
Plan Material requirements (create OR's with proper dates) ensure inventory;
Review shortage report before aircraft arrival;
Plan external service requirements (create request for purchase order with proper dates);
Plan facility requirements (hangar capacity and FBO);
Create Work Breakdown Structure (project sequence + Work Order dates) (i.e. Plan the sequence of the heavy maintenance tasks throughout the heavy maintenance visit);
Create detailed schedule (with milestones);
Update JDE and production visual boards;
Review AWR's and plan dates and resources (including JMR's) impact;
Provide daily schedule update (manage dates + visibility board + milestones);
Coordinate external services (Manufacturer /Supplier) for production (create request for purchase order and schedule dates);
Create work package (WO, Shop process cards, create COI, etc).
Must have 5-10 years relevant experience in a similar position in the Aviation Industry;
High School and College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance;
Must have a valid AME License or have experience on production planning for more than 5 years;
Experience in Planning aircraft Maintenance and Capacity Planning and experience in Quality Inspection and Aircraft Type Endorsement (preferred);
Experience in Maintenance, Sheet Metal, Avionics, Interior installation or Quality Assurance (preferred);
Must have experience with MS Word / Excel and MS Project (preferred);
Must have strong administration skills and resource planning (preferred);
Ability to work in project team;
Ability to work with tight deadlines.
