We are looking for a highly motivated Security Supervisor to join our Calgary Office security team. In this role, in partnerships with property management and with the support of other members of the security team, you’ll support the Devon/Millennium team providing effective leadership, guidance and direction on security matters, while ensuring compliance with all standardized safety and security policies and procedures within the company.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Life Safety Program
? Maintain the building Fire Safety Plan, and coordinate tenant training.
? Ensure contract security staff is familiar with the operation of the Life Safety System and provide regular training and review of policies and procedures.
? Plan and execute annual Fire Evacuation Drills.
? Coordinate regular inspections (Fire Code Compliance) of all systems and equipment.
Fire Warden Program
? Deliver Fire Warden training to building tenants and Oxford staff.
? Maintain Fire Warden manuals and safety videos, ensuring they meet applicable legislative, industry and company standards.
? Maintain Fire Warden supplies.
Physical Security Program
? Maintain physical security systems, including CCTV and Access Control.
? Manage Key Control program and coordinate tenant access card inquiries, programming and troubleshooting.
? Deliver training to security staff on physical security systems.
? Assist Senior Security Manager with long-term Physical Security Plan.
? Ensure the Emergency Response Program is relevant and meets company standards.
? Coordinate Emergency Response training with the Property Management team.
? Ensure all incidents are thoroughly documented using the company incident reporting tool.
Security Incident Reporting, Investigation and Audits
? Ensure all active security personnel are set up and trained in the use of the company incident reporting tool.
? Review and close out all incident reports in a timely manner; maintain quality of reports by ensuring all pertinent information has been entered.
? Collaborate with the Senior Security Manager in response to investigations of incidents, debriefs and sensitive internal or tenant-related security concerns.
? Interview and assess all contract security personnel for placement at the site.
? Train, in conjunction with the security service provider, all guards on site-specific policies and procedures, adhering to company standards.
? Evaluate performance of contract security guards and address any concerns with the contract security account manager.
? Highlight positive guard performance and promote departmental values.
? Liaise with contract security service provider to ensure regular and special contract security shifts are scheduled and buildings/events properly staffed.
? Review security contract invoices for accuracy and completeness.
? Assist with development and maintenance of security procedures and plans.
? Issue work orders and review invoices for correct coding for security-related expenditures.
? Determine needs and resources for the security department, and assist the Senior Security Manager with budget planning.
? Write comprehensive security reports and summaries; provide quarterly audits to Senior Security Manager.
? Maintain current on relevant legislation and regulations
? Liaise with key tenant contacts and develop professional relationships focused on mutual understanding.
To succeed in this role, you have:
? Have 2-5 years of supervisory experience in the Security field, preferably in a commercial multi-tenant environment.
? Possess a valid Alberta Security License.
? Have attained or be willing to complete the Certified Protection Officer designation.
? Have thorough knowledge of the Criminal Code as it applies to Security Operations.
? Have a strong customer service mindset – able to blend courtesy, active listening and effective questioning to ensure service excellence.
? Are proficient on computers and MS Office applications.
